AAS Properties

Known Psychometric Properties

Rasch analysis of the AAS in a sample of 322 individuals with ABI and significant others demonstrated satisfactory internal consistency and construct validity (Person Reliability = .77; Person Separation = 1.82; Item Reliability = .97; Item Separation = 6.18). Simple correlations and Principal Components Analysis including the Perceived Control Scale for Brain Injury, Satisfaction with Life Scale, Physical and Mental subscales of the SF-12, and the short-form of the Craig Hospital Inventory of Environmental Factors (CHIEF-SF) provided additional support for concurrent and construct validity.
