Perceived Control Scale for Brain Injury
Properties
Known Psychometric Properties
Rasch analysis of the PCS-BI in a sample of 322 individuals with ABI and significant others demonstrated satisfactory internal consistency and construct validity (Person Reliability = .78; Separation = 1.89; Item Reliability = .99; Separation = 8.41). Simple correlations and Principal Components Analysis including the Advocacy Activities Scale, Satisfaction with Life Scale, Physical and Mental subscales of the SF-12, and the short-form of the Craig Hospital Inventory of Environmental Factors (CHIEF-SF) provided additional support for concurrent and construct validity.
